Age Equity Alliance is excited by our first-ever Giving Tuesday Campaign. If you’ve been following our progress this year, you already know that Age Equity Alliance has come a long way. In January, we were just an exploratory working group. By March we had a new name and mission. In May we filed as a nonprofit organization in the state of Texas and by early July we had officially filed with the IRS as a 501(c)(3).
We are committed to increasing workplace equity across the age spectrum positively impacts applicants and employees at every age and every career stage.
Through education, training, Age Equity Reviews, and consultation, Age Equity Alliance creates awareness of unconscious age bias in workplace policies, processes, and employee culture.
By partnering with us, organizations and communities better understand the age messages they are sending to prospective and current employees. And, they are learning what they need to do to embrace and communicate the importance of age equity. This translates to increased employment opportunities, ongoing development, and advancement, regardless of age.
As we continue to influence hiring and talent management processes, the age bias and discrimination felt by applicants and employees now will become less burdensome in the future.
Our Giving Tuesday Goal
This year, AEA has been entirely self-funded, with a core volunteer team doing all the work behind the scenes. In our first Giving Tuesday campaign, our goal is:
50 donations, of any amount, by 11:59 PM Pacific on Tuesday, December 1.
We know our success depends on a grassroots effort across the age spectrum to help us connect with potential donors, as well as future beneficiaries of our subject matter expertise and content.
Your support enables us to further our outreach to businesses, age-friendly communities, and government organizations. Moreover, it helps us ensure age equity is a critical part of every diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy.
Even if you are not in a position to donate, please share our Giving Tuesday campaign on your favorite social media channels. We know it takes a village and we are grateful that you are a part of ours.
Thanks so much for making our first Giving Tuesday a success!
