On 1 January 2021, Age Equity Alliance began its 100 in 100 campaign–100 messages about age inclusion in 100 days. Bite-sized messages provide how-tos, questions to consider, research findings, and a repeated call-to-action for HR and diversity, equity, and inclusion executives to ensure “age” is a vital part of any DEI strategy.
Building more awareness about age bias and discrimination in the workplace requires sharing the message everywhere. AEA’s YouTube channel is the perfect place.
Beginning with the new year and continuing every day through April 10th, we are publishing educational videos. Topics so far include the impact of unemployment by age group, the value of multigenerational teams, and the importance of creating a work culture that impacts an employees’ sense of belonging.
Other videos share steps organizations can take to become more age inclusive. For example, Day 5 offers seven steps organization leaders can (and should) take to build and sustain an age-diverse organization. Day 7 provides an important must-do for every organization and is often overlooked. Day 10 shares the recent news of the recent EEOC information on systemic discrimination.
These messages are perfect for HR and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion executives who want to build internal awareness and encourage change.
What kind of workplace do you want to age in? Together, we can make it a reality.
