Why is this educational forum important?
Around the world, the workforce demographic is shifting—marked by an increasing number of older workers and a declining pool of younger talent ready to step into key roles.
Voluntary separations continue to threaten business sustainability, pointing to continued employee dissatisfaction. Strategies for attracting, developing, and retaining talent are following the old paradigm that no longer works.
Key to understaning culture is to understand what employees expect–across the ages and stages of work–and identify the gaps. Only then can talent management strategies effect the change workplaces need to see.
With people living and working longer, most are looking at a 60+ year career–essentially, a whole life career. When standing at the early side of that, it can look daunting. How can employers help younger workers feel confident that they will have the flexibility they will need to recharge and try new things? How will mid-career employees better manager younger and older colleagues successfully? How can older workers be reassured that development and reskilling opportunities are not age bound?
Then there is the workplace reality of ageism, which is judging someone’s ability and potential purely on age. It negatively impacts younger and older workers. And, it negatively impacts your business.
Ageism impacts hiring, development, and retention decisions and it most often based on unfounded stereotypes, bias, and outdated “retirement” ideaology.
This hurts workers of all ages. And, it hurts your business.
We’ll be addressing these topics (and more) with some of the world’s most prominent experts. Your registration gives you access to all three events!
Barbara Brooks says
If I may suggest, you’ll want to add breaks between some of the talks.
Sheila Callaham says
Thanks for the feedback, Barbara. We do cover a lot of material, no doubt! But we also include a 5 min Q&A at the end of every talk and encourage our participants to take personal breaks as needed instead of scheduling them in. You’ll be amazed how quickly the time goes by!
Regina says
Will recording be provided in case we miss any of the sessions?
Sheila Callaham says
Hi Regina, so happy you will be joining us for the event. We have a very active chat, making the forum very interactive.
A post-event resource package will cover each session across all the geographies. We do not provide recordings.
See you on the inside!
