Executive Director and Board Chair

Sheila Callaham is the executive director of the Age Equity Alliance, an organization partnering with companies to create age equity in the workplace. As a longtime global inclusion and diversity subject matter expert, she believes employers who proactively build diverse, multigenerational teams are not only the most inclusive, but they are also best positioned to drive business success.
She believes that when teams combine the unbridled passion of youth with the wisdom of experience, without fear of judgment or bias, you unlock the potential for increased innovation, inclusive product development and delivery, and enhanced brand memorability and customer loyalty. Age equity facilitates mutual mentoring, respect, and team building that differentiates you from every other company fragmented by inter-generational conflict and debilitating age bias.
With more than 30 years of experience in communications and inclusive brand-building across private and public sectors in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East, Sheila’s expertise also includes coaching, training development and facilitation, and public speaking. Additionally, she is a contributor to Forbes.com, writing exclusively for the Diversity and Inclusion channel.
Sheila served on The Conference Board’s Council of U.S. Diversity & Inclusion Executives and the board of the North Carolina Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In her volunteer role with the North Carolina Writer’s Network, she built one of the most active chapters statewide.
Sheila obtained her BA in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland, European Division, and an MA in International Studies from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. She has also earned certificates in Management, Organizational Development, and Human Resource Management.
